MEKONG DELTA: New Album Title Announced
January 29, 2007Legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA has set "Lurking Fear" as the title of its upcoming "comeback" album, tentatively due later in the year. Working songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Rules of Corruption", "Society of Fear", "Ratters", "Shadow of Truth" and "Immortal Hate".
As previously reported, MEKONG DELTA has recruited Leo Szpigiel (ANGEL DUST, CROWS, SCANNER, DUKE) to sing on the new CD. MEKONG DELTA guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE) recently finished recording the guitar parts for the album, which is expected to include an adaptation of the classical piece "Allegro" from the 10th symphony by Dimitri Schostakovich. The final vocal arrangements are now being fine-tuned and the group will shortly begin laying down the vocal tracks.
MEKONG DELTA's current lineup is completed by drummer Uli Kusch (ex-MASTERPLAN, HELLOWEEN).
Zardoz Music in 2005 released a two-CD, 22-song compilation, entitled "The Principle of Doubt", containing selections from various MEKONG DELTA albums.
MEKONG DELTA will release a live DVD containing the band's December 21, 1991 concert in Frankfurt, Germany. An exact release date will be announced soon.
